from 2024

In the autumn of 2024 another film studio was launched – this time just south of the river in Deptford.  They claim to be the biggest film studios in London Zone 2 and their website states that they specialise in commercials, fashion and music videos.  The studios have been designed by film crew and certainly seem to be very smart and packed with helpful features.  According to their website:

We are based in central London and have a huge dedicated car park and yard for all your crew and production vehicles. Each studio has twin loading bays allowing for quick unloading and to prevent bottlenecks.  Our stylish production rooms have in-built monitoring ready to go and blazing fast 4gbps internet for rapid file sharing or streaming.

Our on-site production equipment store has you covered for those last minute requests and our studio cafe serves award winning coffee from our local roaster Elsewhere.

There are two stages on offer.  Studio 1 is 8,000 sq ft with a 60ft x 60ft white cove.  Black drapes are available to pull round over the cyc if required.  There are motorised trusses overhead with pre-rigged Socapex cabling to speed up lighting rigging and the grid height is 24ft.  Support spaces include a dressing room, client room and production office.  There is 12G SDI monitoring available from the stages to the support areas.  Studio 2 is a 5,000 sq ft Virtual Production stage with backout drapes.  There is an 8m x 4m LED Volume screen but this can be added to if required.  Overhead are 5 x 15m steel beams with chain hoists.

These are very well-designed facilities and although they are aimed at the commercials and music video market, I was interested to see that they are also being used for a multi-camera TV show.  Call Yourself a Fan is a football-based quiz show hosted by Alex Brooker and recordings are planned in April and May 2026.  One assumes an OB truck will be providing technical facilities.
