In March 2024 The Location Collective announced the imminent opening of OMA Studio V – their third studio following OMA One and OMA X, which opened in 2020 and 2021 respectively. Both of those studios have been fully booked since becoming available and these new sound stages have also proved to be very popular. They are sited in Radlett, Hertfordshire, with easy access to the M25. The Location Collective claim that the new studio is within an hour’s drive time of 80% of London’s crew base. This facility has been designed for a single high-end TV production or feature film looking for a fully self-contained and controllable base.
The 5 acre site includes 36,000 sq ft of production office and support space. The three stages are fully soundproofed and consist of one at 32,534 sq ft and two more at 16,200 sq ft.
Location Collective credits include: Napoleon, Loki, Slow Horses, Empire of Light, The Crown, Gladiator 2, Mission Impossible, Wicked, Masters of the Air, Wicked Little Letters, Mr Bates vs the Post Office, Black Mirror and The Boys in the Boat.
I have not been able to establish what has been filmed specifically in these studios. Can you help?
